Christmas time

At the end of Thanksgiving break, my dad surprised us with a tiny rosemary Christmas tree! We brought it home to Blacksburg and now it's decorated and sitting in our window sill. We also gave our faux deer a rudolph nose and hung a cranberry garland above the window.

I am so very excited to spend my first Christmas with Chris as a married couple!

Weekend road trip- Pittsburgh

Two weeks ago we took a road trip up to Pittsburgh. We met up with my screen printing class and toured the mattress factory and Andy Warhol museum, and the next day the two of us went to Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water.
Pittsburgh is a great city. It was fun to explore... when we weren't completely lost driving around. We'll have to go back someday with a GPS.

Pictures II

Here are some more film photographs that we recently got developed. These are from early August at Blacksburg's annual 'Steppin Out' street festival.
My favorite part of Steppin Out was the food from Gillies. Chris's favorite thing was the hippy bus turned traveling greenhouse. And both of us loved the guy in the second photo missing a shirt and shoes, carrying a parasol, and offering free, stinky hugs.

Pictures, Finally

Finally, we developed three rolls of film! 2 rolls from the holga, and 1 from the olympus.
These pictures were taken last weekend, with the holga, when we went to pick out some pumpkins.

Herbal Tea

This morning we went to the farmers market (<1 block away from home) and ate some fried pumpkin pies and picked up some 'daily health' herbal tea. We tried our new teapot for the first time and the tea was perfect for a chilly first day of October.

See ya Summer!

September has come, school has started, and summer is over. We are ready for fall. Colder weather, halloween, leaves, sweaters, hot chocolate, hokie football, and soup. On another note, I can't believe we're both seniors in college and spending our last fall in Blacksburg. Bittersweet.

Bike.

Today we went on our first bike ride on the New River Valley Trail. We crossed 5 bridges each way and rode on flat ground the entire way. It was a good day.

Now we're watching the last few hours of steppin out outside of our apartment window. Enjoying the last few weeks of summer!

We went camping.

Last weekend we packed up our brand new camping gear, and went for a little camping trip to Grayson Highlands. We brought along the beautiful Caitie and dashing Chris C with us too. We saw amazing views, hiked some short hikes, watched the boys climb a waterfall, celebrated Canada day, and stopped on our way back to try some deep fried pickles. I love Chris because he orders deep fried pickles and a chocolate milkshake that would make any pregnant lady proud! (haha) We had a wonderful time and we are looking for more excuses to go camping, before we someday leave the great state of Southwest Virginia.
