Wedding: update/ favors

Another update on how wedding plans are coming.
66 days till June 3rd!

Dress: Almost done! I went home last weekend and tried it on, and I love it! My mom has done an incredible job sewing my dream dress.
Invitations: Printed and assembled. Once the envelopes are addressed we can start sending them out. I also designed and printed coordinating 'thank you' cards, so that's already done too.
Save the dates: what? I never sent them? oops. now i feel like its too late...
Flowers: hmmm... nope, not done. I know generally what I want, now we just have to make that happen. More on that later, I guess.

DIY projects
-Fabric chandeliers- done
-Fabric napkins- almost
-Paper flags- almost
-Etched jar to replace guest book- done!
-Garlands- getting close
-Photobooth backdrop- nope!
I'm getting too stressed out just writing this list... lets just say there are a lot of things to do. I've done more projects than that, right?

On to the favors:
Yesterday we ordered mini spice jars from world market for favors. They'll probably look something like the favors in these pictures once they're done-

Hopefully things will start coming together soon. Lately I have been told by several too many people that 'the wedding is coming up.' haha! I guess I knew it would happen eventually!

When life gives you Llamas....

Chris and I were walking around my apartment complex and saw a Llama, or is it an alpaca? Now we have spied a llama, horses, cows, a donkey, ducks, dogs, cats, groundhogs, deer, and cute old men on our walks around town.

Thank goodness for Spring. happy weekend!

Wedding: Groom's outfit

I had so much fun compiling pictures for my 'dream sources' posts that I decided to do another collage. This time of Christopher's wedding day outfit. I came home from spring break and got to see Chris model all of his fancy clothes for me.

Thanks to American Apparel, Urban Outfitters, Piperlime, and Etsy for making this offbeat wedding outfit possible.

Wedding: DIY update

Spring break 2011 is underway. All I'm focusing on this week is the wedding! Projects are getting started, plans are getting finalized, and the dress is getting sewed. woohoo! Anyway, this update is for my 'fabric chandeliers' inspired by this picture from 100layercake:
I think this might be my first project that I can call 100% done. I made three 'chandeliers' using wire wreath forms to make them circular. I took one of them outside to see how it might look hanging in the backyard. Now just imagine summery blue skies and blossoming flowers rather than the cold white winter backdrop. I think one of the chandeliers will be hanging in the gazebo (in the background of the last pic) and who knows where the others will go! I guess there's still some planning to do...

Today we are working on invitations. Printing them ourselves, of course!

'call me a hipster as long as you're a listener'

Sunny Saturdays are best spent sitting in the sun watching Chris do tricks on his bicycle. And watching your basketball team beat the #1 team in the country isn't too bad either. Let's go....
