skype dates...

Until Chris gets here we are stuck having skype dates with each other, just like we did over the longest summer ever. Not that they are actual dates, because all that we really do is make faces at each other.
Christopher's 'Elvis Presley snarl':
Skype is fun, but real life is better.

Where does the white go when the snow melts?

Today Blacksburg was surprised by a beautiful blanket of snow. So far it has snowed every day of December, and I am ok with that.

alllright

These three cards are how I would describe today.

Postsecret is an ongoing community art project where people mail in their secrets anonymously on one side of a postcard.
(This past summer, Chris wrote his own little postsecret and gave it to me on the beach. When I looked up, he was proposing.)

Last little while

some argus pictures from the last little while
1. Our hike to the Cascades in October.
2. Chris took me on a day date to Roanoke, where we tried cupcakes at Bubblecake bake shop. My first adventure to Roanoke outside of downtown/ mall area. If I had to live in Roanoke, that neighborhood is where I would want to live.
3. Christopher's bike. Of course.
4. Where we took our DIY engagement pictures- Falls Ridge Nature preserve.
5. The argus was not made for indoor pictures. Also, I am a lazy bum.

We started another roll this past week in KY. Can't wait to see how they turned out.
The next few weeks will be busy, but then its Christmas break! I don't think I can handle Christmas music yet, but Chris and I decorated a gingerbread house over thanksgiving and I bought pine needle scented hand soap so I guess the season has begun!

"Ahh, Home Let me come home. Home is wherever I'm with you"

Happy Thanksgiving!
We are very thankful.

For each other. For family. For sleeping in late. For yummy vegetarian Thanksgiving food. For future in laws. For church. For Diet Coke. For jeeps. For memories. For jobs. For cameras. For day dreams. For 1 year together.

We are celebrating this year with Chris's family, who moved away from us a few months ago to Kentucky. We are having a blast with them. I miss my family, but we will all be together for Christmas! I can't wait.

rainy biking

Last night, Chris was not prepared to bike home in the rain. So I made him a poncho with a trash bag.
He was so embarrassed that he took only back roads home.
Sad day.

Remimber that one time when I forgot how to tell what day it was?

Sometimes you just have an off week.

This week I have already managed to stay awake all night for a test that wasn't the next day. Then miss my last radio show of WUVT because Tuesday morning from 12 to 2 is not Wensday morning from 12 to 2.... but what can you do?

Here's a coolish picture.

Halloween a year ago

Last Halloween I might have had a crush on the DJ at our church Halloween party. One year later, I'm going to the same Halloween party with the same DJ. I love him.

part II

oops. life got in the way. here's a couple more pictures from our DIY engagement shoot.

Wedding plans are coming along slowly but surely. Chris and I got on the waiting list for an apartment (with a loft!) for fall. We made plans to go to Kentucky for Thanksgiving. And Chris bikes a lot (remember no drive october?), but drives when he needs to.

Stress is here to stay until Christmas. But this weekend with no football game and Halloween should make things pretty alright.

Chris and Natalie photography

Surprise! Chris and I took engagement pictures over the weekend. We didn't really spread the word about our plans because we weren't sure how they would turn out, because we did them ourselves. Thats right, it was just us, a camera, and a tripod. Oh, and a burlap backdrop that we hung up from some trees.
Considering that Chris and I are not photographers, we think they turned out pretty ok. Hope everyone likes them!
I'll be back tomorrow with some more!

School < Soccer

(Picture from: http://www.ncwsoccer.com/images/soccer3.jpg)

Sometimes school is way to hard and you don't pass all those tests but playing soccer at the end of the day makes it so much better.

Fall Break Hike

These pictures are from a hike that Chris and I went on last winter to Mcafee's knob, 7 or 8 miles and a wind chill of probably -10 up on the top. This weekend we went on a much shorter and much warmer hike with some friends from church to the Cascades. The leaves are starting to change and the weather is getting to that perfect medium between hot and cold. Fall is just right.

Hope you had a great weekend!
oh and if you get a chance listen to our radio show tonight (12-2 am) on wuvt. and no, I don't expect anyone to stay up that late to listen.

Midsemester

This week was looking pretty lame.
Tests in one of my classes, and ALL of Chris's classes
Cool, cheap, one bedroom apartments in Blacksburg are impossible to find
Another office design project...
Running out of clean laundry
Not going home this weekend because I have to work all of Fall Break

but...
We got another Argus roll developed (see above!)
My professor's wife just went into labor, and my other professor went out of town
and CHIPOTLE opens in Blacksburg today

thank goodness for little things that make the mid-semester slump a little more doable

On a roll

So here it is,

I weight 184

It takes 22 minutes to get from Natalie's apt to mine a 5 mile distance according to Google maps.

I like to eat Cheese despite the fact I'm lactose intolerant.

What of these 3 things do you think will change in the month of October?

The route it take (school is in the middle)

Cars are lame

Hey there all,

This is Chris, I haven't blogged in a while so here's whats up. I decided that for the whole month of October I would go on a cleanse of using the jeep. So for the whole month I will only be using my bike to get around. Natalie has agreed to this under the terms that I blog about it at least once a week. I will be measuring some things like how fast it takes me to get to my apartment from Natalie's (which is all the way across town), my weight, and maybe some other things if I think of them! Tonight starts the first day Natalie dropped me off on campus with my bike and starting at 12 I will only be biking!
So I'll let you know in a week how its going!
My Bike! (also I'm riding with only one gear)

Chris

DIY

I might be planning on doing a lot of DIY projects for this wedding. I just found this fabric chandelier on 100layer cake, and I am in love. I really need to make a list of all the projects I want to get done so that I don't go overboard. If you saw my wedding inspiration folder on my mac, you'd say I've already gone overboard. But I think this project is sweet and totally doable, right??

have a sassy wednesday!

Good Monday

Today was a good day because I wore all grey and Fall began. High in the 60's and leaves that are starting to change color.

Chris and I had a great visit with my family this weekend. Chris met some more of my family and us girls got to start planning the wedding. Road trips with Chris are nice, but mini vacations always end too soon and then real life begins way too fast. What can you do?

If you've ever loved somebody put your hands up

Sorry we've been MIA...
Studio, classes, and work take up too much time, and aren't very fun to blog about.
We're headed to Manassas for the weekend! Crossing our fingers that the jeep will make it.
oh, and life is good.
