Meet Argus

In case you didn't know.
this is the argus c4
my 35 mm camera from the 1950's

Chris surprised me in January with the Argus (and the blog.) He told me about the surprise in a facebook message, but forgot that I might check my computer before I could meet up with him. So, he sent me a text while I was in my studio asking me not to check fb, but he couldn't tell me why. Being a bit confused, a bit worried, and a bit annoyed... I met up with Chris and found out about his awesome gift for me.

What can I say? Chris is pretty cool... and we've had loads of fun with this camera ever since.

Oh yeah, I also got bangs..

cheese warning

A Cheesy poem that I'm loving. Thanks E.E. Cummings---

i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart)
i am never without it (anywhere
i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, me darling)
i fear
no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) i want
no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)

Weekend

Sorry for the delay. This weekend with Chris was SO. MUCH. FUN.
ahh, why did I ever leave?
I wish I had taken more pictures
of making dinner, playing tennis, going on walks, shopping in Blacksburg, hiking on the Appalachian, swimming under a waterfall, eating at our favorite restaurants, and playing crud.
(there are more pictures on the Argus, to be developed)

Can't wait until you come visit me in Manassas!

mmmmm.... Summer

Summer in Manassas means Nathan's dairy bar ice cream. Saturday night I went with the family and waited in the long line (worth it) for black cherry soft serve ice cream dipped in chocolate.

This is what summer tastes like.

I have an Addiction.

Its Chris,

I have to admit that I have a serious addiction to bikes all kinds of them. Mostly to road bikes thought, I recently sold my road bike to buy a fixed gear bike. You should watch this video of lance armstrong ridding one to see whats up! But anyways this summer I'm living in giles county and for those of you who know it's kinda slow going here, so I wanted a project to work on while I'm here and this is it! A really old girls bike that I got for free! I believe natalie said something about it in a previous post. So I spent a couple of nights working on the old free spirit and here are some pictures of it!

Well the pictures are a bit out of order... but you get the idea! I hope natalie likes and maybe rides it?!

Until next time,

Chris

The Sign

Hi!! Remember how I love apartment therapy? I found this DIY project (go there for instructions!)and I had to make it:

The original

My version

The sign is four feet tall and almost as wide, which will cover so much wall space in my new apartment. yay! The saying 'may the best of your todays be the worst of your tomorrows' is a line from Jay-Z's track Young Forever.

Yes I picked a quote from a rap song.

And I know he wasn't the fist person to say it... I was searching for a positive, non-cheesy line for my wall and this one stuck out the most to me. Why can't everyday be better than the one before? Plus, Jay-Z is awesome.

What statement would you hang on your wall?

So many of the rowhouses has these 'english basement' apartments. I thought they were adorable.I'm dreaming about someday living in one of these houses. I am a city girl!!

Fun link, happy weekend

Happy Friday! I wanted to share a link to this website, sproost.com. Take the quiz, and it determines your personal home decorating style.

What was my style?

50% Vintage Modern
25% Rustic Revival
25% Modern Elegance

"Vintage Modern"

I promise its not one of the quizzes made for preteens, like, "Which vampire from Twilight are you?" I promise. Sister-in-law Cassie showed me the site, so it has to be classy!

Anyway, I'm pumped for the weekend. I'm finally going to the Eastern Market in DC. Also, training for work starts Monday. yay? I'm at least happy to have something to keep my busy! Have a fabulous weekend.
